Venugopalan Pallayil holds a post graduate degree in physics and a Ph.D in Microwave Electronics both from Cochin University of Science and Technology, India. He was working as a Research and Development Scientist in the Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory, India for about 11 years. There his activities were related to Sonar system design for ship-borne and air-borne applications. He has 12 research publications in the fields of Microwave NDT, Microstrip Antennas and Oceanographic Instrumentation. Currently he is a Research Fellow at the Acoustic Research Laboratory and is the project manager for the Remotely Operated Ambient Noise Imaging System ( ROMANIS), an advanced ambient noise imaging camera.
