Gao Rui completed her honors degree in communications and electrical engineering from the National University of Singapore (NUS). She then worked on image and signal processing for the classification of dolphin vocalizations for a year. Now she is exploring algorithms for AUV positioning at the ARL. Gao Rui is also pursuing a part-time Master of Engineering degree at NUS.

Gao Rui enjoys reading, swimming, traveling as a backpacker, and drawing. She loves cats.
